About LCHF

In October 2005 Dr. Annika Dahlqvist started her blog about LCHF. The past year she had successfully tried low carb diet with not only weight loss but also she became symptomless from her illness fibromyalgia. Dahlqvist began to recommend low carb diet for her diabetic patiens, which also started to lose weight and regain their health.

In 2008 the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare approved Annika Dahlqvist’s dietary advices as an alternative to the earlier advices for diabetes and or obesity.

LCHF can be seen as a strict, and more effective, version of the G.I. diet. You remove all carbohydrates, not only the worst.
Sugar and starch (bread, pasta, rice and potatoes) begins to break-down in the stomach to sugar and the blood sugar will therefore get higher. Then your body will create more insulin which makes you hungry.

Lowering the amount of carbohydrates will stabilize your blood sugar. Less insulin will give you a weight loss without hunger.
